Trash to...

well, it's still trash, but it kept them entertained for a couple hours.
Today was a teacher work day- no school, so we had Makenna and Riley over for some fun. (Well, their mom is the school nurse and she had to work, but it is still fun for us.)
This is Makenna's snowman made from a breath mint case.

and a close up of her painting skills.

These are their bling rings. (Carly didn't want a picture taken of her rings, she was still working on them.)
These are Riley's jewels. Riley and Leighton made necklaces and bracelets.
Leighton's bling.
That's Riley in the background, just being Riley.
Isn't she adorable?
We made the rings from the little tab you pull off......
yep, the orange juice.

So, an apology to Jessica, sorry for the trash, you can throw them away after they go to sleep. That is what I do. But, I keep them forever.

Yummy!

The girls were able to take a tour of the local donut shop with their Girls Scout troop. At the end of the tour they got to make their own donuts. This is Carly showing off her masterpieces.Of course, typical Leighton, can't wait to eat the SUGAR!Notice that Leighton has already made quite a dent in hers and the bigger girls are just starting. I have thought about competitive eating for her, but she would only compete if if was straight sugar. Then they went to a local park to burn that sugar off.
Leighton told the mother of this toddler, 'Uhm, she just needs to go a little quicker.'
Nice manners.
She told me this curlyque was her favorite. One of the other moms was nice enough to help Carly conquer the zip.I really like this picture of her.A little more sugar to end the day. I was not able to go to this event. I had to work. But, my wonderful friend, Amanda picked up my kids, took them and delivered them safely back to my doorstep. Thanks again, Amanda.

The Cousin Sleepover

My sister-in-law, Megan, and her four kids came down for a visit. We have been planning a sleepover FOR-EVER! We decided that this would be the perfect time. We invited Grandma and Grandpa over for a weenie roast on our newly dug (by me) fire pit. The kids had a great time and so did we. I was having so much fun, I forgot to take pictures. We finished up the evening with s'mores. They were so yummy AND sticky. The kids had their badly needed baths/showers and snuggled into bed. I tried to get a picture of the girls and kept getting underwear shots.
so.... Megan asked Kate to pull her jammies down so we could get a blog appropriate picture and the stinker did this.....
What a character!
Where is Robb you ask? He was going to sleep with Megan and fell asleep waiting for us to stop talking. Don't worry, we didn't make him stay on the floor.I came downstairs and this was at the back door.
I guess this is what it would look like if we had four more kids. Kinda scary!

Easter Happenings

On Saturday we colored eggs.
Carly was very intense, as usual, making sure her eggs were exactly as she wanted them.Leighton was a little less precise in her dyeing.
I am sure it had nothing to do with Dee hovering over her every move.Jensyn was very interested in the process at first.....then she decided that honing her toe grip for crayon coloring was a much better task. The girls made some pretty eggs. And some more pretty eggs. And then they turned them into.......
MONSTERS!!!not very Eastery..but very fun!The Easter Bunny arrived this morning. He brought candy, bubbles, candy, crayons, candy, coloring books, candy...Carly got a football.and Leighton got a light up hula hoop. Jensyn had to try it out.Maybe she needs more practice. She was very good at unwrapping the candy!
I found these throughout the house.
The girls could hardly contain themselves until they were able to go to Grandma and Grandpa's for the annual Easter Egg Hunt.

Leighton found this one just before it was eaten by the crocodile!

Jensyn thought the idea was fun.

She even found a few with only a little help.

Carly was busier complaining that Leighton was getting all the eggs than actually hunting for them.
Note the jaw clenched in disgust.
She got a little happier when Leighton went to the other side of the house.

The girls had a great time, thanks Grandma and Grandpa and Easter Bunny!

and Grandma Doll for the cute outfits!

Happy Easter!
