Remember these pictures?of our Christmas tree all decorated? This is what it looks like now after Jensyn un-decorated it. We have slowly moved all the ornaments out of her reach. I guess it is time to come down!
Leighton, looking at her weekly interim report: Mom, what does S stand for?
Me: Satisfactory.
Leighton: Oh, I thought maybe it was for stinky.
What exactly is she doing in class?

Jensyn's Trick
1-30 Jensyn is now fully potty trained (Yay!) and with that comes the obsession with using EVERY potty everywhere. She wants to use the potty at Food Lion, Waffle House, Michael's, the gas station, the doctors office, etc. It doesn't matter if she has just gone, she insists that she has to go.
12-20 Carly: Mom, I am still hungry, can I have some more _______? (fill in the blank with ANY food)
One bite later........
Carly : I am too full!
Me: AARRHH!!!
6-10 We are driving down the road with Grandma and she points out the window and says, "Girls, look at all the wheat in the field." Carly responds, 'Oooh, I love wheat!' Twenty seconds later, 'What's wheat?'
Yes, that's my girl!
5-10 Dad, DO SOMETHING!! Leighton is kicking me with her elbows!
Wait, I think I need my camera for this.
3-10 Mom, Grandma is vacoosing me!
Apparently, she was SO confused she couldn't even SAY confused.
2-10 In regards to anything: I better write a note about that!
Me, to myself: Good thinking Leslie, giving her a ream of paper for Christmas, NOT!
My trash is full two hours after she gets home from school everyday.
Me: I'm not sure there is a basil crayon. Why do you need a basil crayon?
Leighton: I am drawing a picture of Mrs. Cook and she told us her eyes are basil.
Yes, she watches all the cooking shows with Dee and Carly.
5-10 Leighton: Mom, I am glad you fixed the stereo in Grandma's car.
Me: It was broken?
Leighton: Yes, when Grandma drove it, it only talked.
3-10 Extenuate- to examine more closely.
Example: Mom, do you think I could take the telescope outside so I could extenuate the moon?
2-10 Natalie Horler from Cascada: Evacuate the dance floor, ooh ooh!
Leighton Young: Vacuum up the dance floor, ooh ooh!
If music is in fact suggestive to it's listener, I prefer the later.
Update: the following week she changed to lyrics, a little.
Ooha, ooha, Vacuum up the disco, Ooh Ooh!
1-11 It's okay Mom. I will help Carly for the rest of her life. Even if she is 100 years old and still doesn't know how to open the Capri Sun, I will help her.
12-20 Jensyn has perfected the pout. She furrows her eyebrows and puckers her lips and then slowly walks to the closest corner. It would be naughty, if it wasn't so cute. It makes me smile and laugh and then she starts laughing too.
5-10 Jensyn has added new sounds/almost words. She says I for hi and I for bye. She can say gum, num-num (anything chocolate) and I swear she told Leighton to go 'way. She has come so far in the last little bit, but still has such a long way to go.
4-10 Jensyn can walk down the stairs holding on to the railing unassisted. She is very proud! I am very nervous.
3-10 Jensyn added NaNaNaNa to her sounds. This was just a random sound she started at the table one day during lunch, we will take them any way we can get them.
2-10 Jensyn has FINALLY added a new sound to her language. SSSSS and ZZZZZZ. When asked what a bee says, she replies with a 'Zzzzz' while moving her index finger all over her body. A snake simply says 'Ssss.' Both sounds are executed with a scrunced up nose.
I promised video, but Blogger is not cooperating.
1-11 Jensyn has been working on lots of signs including: passie, dog, music, drink, out, socks, all done, and color.
She has also been getting up the courage to try going down the one step at the landing standing up. She hangs on to the railing and holds her foot out like she wants to try, but then chickens out at the last minute.
